Tattoo symbolism?

i want to get a tattoo, but i want it to have meaning. and i noticed a sparrow is a theme in tattoos, and different flowers have different meanings. so could anyone tell me what a sparrow represents, along with flowers (whatever kind you know about).

Tattoo symbolism?
I agree with *Nicole*

You can make getting a tattoo an experience or a fad. If you want it to be an experience, do the research yourself and find what is meaningful to you.

I wrote my degree dissertation of symbolism within tattoo imagery, I found this site to be very useful with alot of things. Of course at the end of the day a symbol can mean something different to everyone who has it when it's dealing with tattoos, but this site gives a good general overview. Hope this helps!

...you expect them to get a meaningful tattoo... Meaningful to them. Not just something with a generic meaning!

Now let me ask you this... WHY would you get something that isn't meaningful to YOU!? Who cares what it means to other people? You shouldn't. Tattoos are about the person who gets them, not about the rest of the world!

Sparrows are a sailor tattoo, there are a few different historical reasons and meanings... Go look that up.

Now, think hard of something that means something to YOU and consider it for a tattoo. Tattoos are supposed to express the wearer, and picking a popular design and then finding the tattoo is silly.

Sorry to be so rude, but someone should say it.
