I was wondering are there meanings behind every different colour of the dreamcatcher's feathers? I've saw black feathers, beige ones, white ones. Is there any meaning in it? as in like diff flowers got different meanings? If do, which color represents what? Thanks!
Dreamcatcher...different colours of feather, different meaning?
I don't really know if the colours represent anything,in a dreamcatcher, but the red/white/black/yellow represent the four nations of the world. I make suncatchers, something like dreamcatchers, but my creations catch the sun and send positive thinking.
Reply:they get the meaning of what ever you want them to be. dreamcatchers are made with jus the idea of decorating now...so sad. my great-grandma would probably be so confused if she came back n saw how theyre used today. but u give the power to the catcher...if u get wat i mean. it is what you make it to be. ;)
Reply:It depends on who makes the dreamcatcher. I'm a Native American by blood. My dad is a traditionalist, as their called. If you know a traditionalist made them then they should have 4 colors: red, black, yellow, and white. A color each for the 4 directions and 4 skin colors. Normally, though, it is done in beads in the webbing of the catcher. However, the multy colored feathered catchers are made, mostly, by non-traditionalists looking for a quick buck off the nearest white eyes that'll buy it. And of course, everyone likes colors.
Reply:yes the different colors can mean different things you can search these online or look them up in some wiccan books i cant think of a website right off the top of my head but it shouldnt be too hard to find
